The bass trombone and tuba have always been known to be supporting voices in the orchestra and bands. Tonight, they take center stage as young musicians Jasper Tan and Shawn Yap, accompanied by pianist Gabriel Hoe, present a recital that showcases the versatility of these instruments. From beautiful lyricism to explosive aggressiveness, experience the many sides and voices they have to offer!

With a focus on new music for this recital, they have programmed works by some of the most well known contemporary composers for the tuba and bass trombone such as Daniel Schnyder, Steven Verhelst and Anna Baadsvik. Also on the program is a brand new work for bass trombone and piano written by Singaporean composer, Terrence Wong.

Joining the soloists tonight are clarinetist Benjamin Wong for Schnyder's Around the World and horn players Alexander Oon, Bryan Chong, Lewis Lim and Linda Chua for Danielsson’s Concertante Suite.
