A two-time recipient of the National Arts Council (NAC) Arts Scholarship, Terrence Wong Fei Yang (b. 1989) graduated with a Bachelor of Music under the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts-Royal College of Music (Hons) Degree Programme, and will be pursuing a Master of Music in Composition at the Royal College of Music (RCM), London from 2019 to 2021 with the aid of a partial scholarship from the RCM. He has studied composition under the tutelage of Zechariah Goh Toh Chai and Kenneth Hesketh, as well as conducting with Lim Yau, Leonard Tan and Volker Hartung.

Wong has been commissioned to compose music for numerous events such as the National Piano and Violin Competition 2013, as well as notable ensembles such as The Philharmonic Winds and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. In his capacity as the Composer-in-Residence at the Singapore Wind Symphony from 2015 to 2017, he has aided in the creation of many new wind band works by young composers through the Young Composers Challenge and Co|Lab programmes. Wong has also worked as an assistant conductor at two secondary school bands as well as a part-time lecturer at the School of Music, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

He believes that music composition is a lifelong yet fulfilling process of research, appreciation, creative thinking and performance.
